Out Of Bounds (Rule 18)

A player’s ball is out of bounds if it lies:

  1. Beyond the boundary of the course.
  2. To the right of the white stakes on the 10th and 18th fairways when playing these holes.
  3. Beyond the white post surrounding the Practice Putting Green and across the road to the resident’s fence.

Immoveable Obstructions (Rule 16)

The following are immoveable obstructions:

  1. All artificially covered pathways or tracks (boarded, shells, crushed granite or tarmac). All other natural shingle pathways and tracks are integral parts of the course.
  2. The player may take relief if an immovable obstruction is on the line of play, and is within two club-lengths of the putting green, and within two club-lengths of the ball. (Sprinkler Heads for example).
  3. The white stakes between the 17th and 18th fairways when playing the 17th
  4. 150 yds marker posts and  rustic wooden fences
  5. Artificial hole plugs in greens

Staked Trees (Rule 16)

Staked or sleeved tree are No Play Zones, and if a player’s ball lies on or touches such a tree, or such a tree interferes with a player’s stance or area of intended swing the player must take complete relief.

Penalty Areas (Rule 17)

Penalty areas are marked by red stakes

Penalty For Breach Of Local Rules:

  • Match Play -   Loss of hole
  • Stroke Play – General Penalty

Players Advisory Notices

  1. Players are requested to play “Ready Golf” as outlined in Rule 6-4, and to maintain a prompt pace of play as required by Rule 5 -6.
  2. Please rake bunkers, replace divots, and repair pitch marks.
  3. Do not take trolleys on the tees, greens or between bunkers and greens.

Additional Local Rules

Tyre Marks

Tyre marks in the General Area that have caused unusual damage to alter the ground surface materially are ground under repair. If a player’s ball lies in or touches a tyre mark:

  • Ball in General Area. The player may take relief under Rule 16.1b. If the ball comes to rest in another tyre mark the player may take relief again under this Local Rule.
  • Ball on Putting Green. The player may take relief under Rule 16.1d.

Penalty for Playing Ball from a Wrong Place in Breach of Local Rule: General Penalty Under Rule 14.7a.

No Play Zones

The wildflower areas defined by blue stakes situated behind the 10th green, 15th green and to the left of the 16th carry are no play zones that are to be treated as an abnormal course condition. Free relief must be taken from interference by the no play zone under 16.1f.
