August Course Reports

It’s been a very busy couple of weeks with competitions coming thick and fast. Overall I’m very happy with how the course has been since my last report; the greens have dealt with the dry weather very well which is down to good root depth and our continuing wetting agent programme. We have also adjusted, replaced and raised all of …

Over the last month we have made great progress with the greens which are now running true. As you’re all probably aware the greens at the start of the month were fairly bumpy and this was due to the amount of Poa seed heads we had in the sward. The best way to deal with this is to Verti- cut. …

We then solid tined the greens to improve drainage …

March Course Report

Since my last report the weather has slightly eased which has meant we were able to get out on to the course and do some work. We have sprayed the greens with seaweed and iron, sarrell rolled twice, hand cut and rolled. All the fairways have now been cut for the first time since November and tee’s collars and aprons …

February Course Report

I’m going to have to start with the obvious: The weather! The weather has been and continues to be far from ideal. The consistency of the rain has been the biggest problem as this has not allowed the course to dry and, along with the warm temperatures, has kept the grass growing, all adding up to be the toughest period …
